For those of you who played Monpoc v1.0, Team Covenant originally created "31 days to mastering monsterpocalypse" to help bolster discussion and analysis of our favored game, but most players didn't participate because the commitment of 31 days was simply too arduous. So we set out to solve that by making it shorter and relevant to the new 2.0 format.
So now that we have the physical models in our hands, It's time to start "14-Days to Master Monsterpocalypse". Here is the idea - You walk through the selection, planning and retrospectives of a single list for 14-days. The days do not need to be consecutive, so write at your own pace and in the format you choose. Once you complete a 14-day series, feel free to start another one with a different selection.
You may use any forum to post each days analysis, but the Monpoc.net Monsterblogolypse keeps your threads organized, makes it easy to follow specific users, search on a specific days topic, quickly find monsters and other related information.
Day 1: Kaiju - Choose your two monsters. Discuss why you are drawn to these monsters from an aesthetic and passion standpoint
Day 2: Power - Detail your monster's individual strengths, weaknesses, and synergies
Day 3: Support - Choose a unit list. Discuss why you selected those units and what additional synergies they may offer your monsters
Day 4: Skyline - Choose a building list. Discuss why you selected those buildings, quantities, and what additional synergies they may offer your monsters and units
Day 5: Mark Your Territory - Choose a Map. How will you use that particular map's features to your advantage?
Day 6: The Battle Plan - How are you going to win your games now that you've settled on your army? Discuss opening moves, short game, and end game.
Day 7: Tactical Assessment - Discuss the value to your army of back-to-back monster combos, screening, disruption, holding a power base, etc.
Day 8: The Best Laid Plans - How can you lose now that you've settled on your army?
Day 9: Local Meta - What monster combos are you facing often in actual play? How will you combat their strengths?
Day 10: Broad Meta - What are other's saying about their 14-day masteries? How will you combat those strategies?
Day 11: Refraction - Discuss the color theme for painting your monsters and units. What are you trying to communicate? Include pictures for posterity.
Day 12: Application - Formulate a battle report after you have played a game with your list. What worked like you expected, what didn't, what were the surprises?
Day 13: Revisions - How will you change your list now that you've done all this analysis?
Day 14: Retrospection - What have you learned on this 14-day journey? Was this exercise helpful? Feedback on the 14-days topics is always welcome!
Good luck to you! And may your 14-Days to Mastering Monsterpocalypse bring you insight and spark passionate discussions with the Monpoc community!
